You're half right XD
There's tons of art on the walls of my parents house and in my room there - but all of it was made by us, either paintings, charcoal drawings, ink paintings, or embroidery. I had one poster hanging in my room (Weiss Kreuz, lol)
Now I have some of my own digital drawings printed on canvas, and some of my roommate's acrylic paintings up. And a pretty dyed fabric from Japan.

We barely had enough wallspace for our own stuff, so we never got prints of anybody else's, lol. My sister has a picture she bought hanging in the living room, and I remember being so weirded out the first time I saw it. What do you mean you just... buy something somebody else drew...????
