Well, there are power imbalances in my OTP because one is the main dark lord and the other his second in command. But it is all in how you interpret it. Some people intrepret it as an absusive relationship where the second just does what he is told. But from my understanding of his character, I see him as completely arrogant and while he serves his master he says what he thinks and is as close to an equal as possible. And they are so similar in their darkness that I think they could be in love with each other and only show their good sides with each other.

That, to me, is a large part of what makes them interesting. Two awful people who want to conquer, rule, torture, and destroy everything and yet are still capable of love for each other.
