Re: Ignorant comments on health issues

I have depression, anxiety, and ADD, and I've gotten a lot of shitty comments, but they're mostly from just two people in my family. According to them, I have no reason to be depressed, ADD isn't real/is just an excuse, all of my fears are silly, I'm on too much medication which isn't good for me because of Chemicals, etc.

The anxiety stuff is the most annoying because my aunt is terrified of driving over bridges, herself, so when she says stuff like, "Oh my gawwwwwd, what's the big deal??? Just do it!!" about something that makes me anxious, I always have to draw the comparison between my [feared situation] and her fear of bridges in order for her to take me seriously. I've had to do this at least 6-7 times, and each time it's like a revelation to her. (It's apparently a common family trait to have a reduced capacity for empathy. I was spared, but I just have the opposite problem instead, which also sucks.)
