I read "In The Barn". When I was 12. Because I saw it in an anthology in the library and I'd read a few Xanth novels.

I also read Firefly at some point and that put me off him for good.

I read a lot of Piers Anthony when I was in middle school, including the Xanth series and the Mode series. Yeah, they are all kinds of screwed-up.

I read the first two Split Infinity books and enjoyed them when I was younger, but then upon rereading realized it was essentially a harem plot for the tragically-short-yet-amazingly-talented main character.
