Yeah, I know I left out mention of cream and I didn't even know what sort of alcohol content they have.

Traditionally, cherry schnapps. And not just a little bit (it's the main reason I'm not overly fond of that cake and my grandmother's from the black forest and used to make it fairly often).

I think then that I have never had an absolutely true black forest cake, because I don't do alcohol, but the alcohol-free versions that are just cake, cherries and cream, I like them.
