TBH the thing that bugs me most about TS is their bizarre belief that anytime before 1999 was the fucking stone ages. In a fairly recent episode, they appeared to think it was impressive/rare that somebody would live to age 60...in 1919.

More like modern medicine advancements are the only reason people are living longer. Technology and medicine increase lifespan which certainly wasn't available in 1919.

Yeah...but...living to age 60 in 1919 was absolutely not a big deal.

Modern medicine has increased lifespan, but there were still people who lived past the age of 60 in 1919. Fewer of them than now, yes, but they weren't that rare.

Yeah. Sometimes their ignorance about history is kind of embarrassing. :(

Yeah I have to agree with this. A few of their episodes have been really good, but too many are dragged down by the hosts being either annoying, dull, or repetitive. I still start listening to each new ep, hoping it'll be better this time though, but usually don't make it through the whole thing.

I find Case File more satisfying and better in quality, even though it's only hosted by one dude. Revisionist History is excellent too.

Aw, I enjoy the rambling, personally.

Of course I only ever listen to Thinking Sideways - or any podcast for that matter - when I'm drawing, and in that situation long conversations on one subject are kind of ideal for me, so I may well be in the minority in this.

I actually think they are my favorite podcast on this genre. Every other podcast is just one or two monotone drones at least the three at TS have rapport with each other and a sense of humor. I like the varied topics and it's not limited to same repetitive mysteries everyone always talks about. I also like how their conclusions are within the realm of possibility, unlike all those ridiculous tinhat conspiracy theorist I always seem to find.

I personally less than three thinkin' sideways. Love the random pop culture jokes and references and they have a laugh while doing it. Makes it more entertaining to me than one bloke monotoning the whole thing reading from a script. Definitely like their 'have copious notes, will improvise' approach.

I like their style compared to other true crime podcasts I've listened to (they're not exclusively true crime, of course, but I think it's safe to say that's a lot of their subject matter/fan base). Other true crime podcast hosts tend to have a very self important manner, and Team Sideways is much more laid back, which I appreciate.

I recently unsubscribed because I can't take it any more...which sucks as they covered so many mysteries I was interested in and there isn't really an alternative :(

There are lots of other true crime/unresolved mystery podcasts! Have you tried others?
