Inappropriate behavior in chain of command in fics just annoys me a lot in general. I always see people who will write characters in a military or military-esque setting behaving in completely ridiculous ways, and yes sometimes they can be more casual, but some stuff is just not done, okay.

I think one of the things that annoyed me the most was in a fic where a CO humiliated his SIC very publicly in front of all the SIC's soldiers. Like... why would you demolish his ability to command them...?
