I can't believe I have to keep repeating this:

"I'd totally buy it" doesn't necessarily mean "can but won't," it could very well be "would but can't." As in, would genuinely love to do so, and would like to offer my support by mentioning as such, but cannot in reality make it happen.

what even are you doing. you know very well in that context it means "if you did that I would". Why would anyone mention how they would buy someone's book if they had the money if said book hasn't even been written? you're making this about yourself for no reason
