Or maybe they just said something with the best of intentions because they wanted to support their friend, then months or years passed and they had moved on/were poor/not interested in the concept any more/too busy with real life. How about that? I know, shocking; people are not perfect.

Of course things happen. But I really have trouble believing people don't think the OP has any reason to feel hurt, or that they "didn't really mean it."

I thnk people are just trolling at this point

Of course the OP can feel hurt. Honestly, I get that. It's valid. They put a lot of work into something. It's awful to feel that's not appreciated.

But blaming it on their friends as some kind of betrayal is ridiculous. It sucks but it's no-one's responsibility to promote their work but the author's.
