I can only watch soccer of the announcers are speaking Spanish, and I don't know any soccer-relevant Spanish except "GOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!"

The Spanish announcers get so in to the games, it's great!

I strongly considered watching the World Series in Spanish, just to escape Joe Buck.

But then you miss John Smoltz!

His grammar is so bad, I would barely miss him. Like, is that really English, dude?

Also during game 4, he was talking about game 6/7 like it was a sure thing. "[X will happen] WHEN we go back to Cleveland. We're GUARANTEED to see Kluber again! Blah blah blah!" Um, NONE of that happens if Cleveland wins game 5. Stupefying.

*shrug* Guy was a pitcher, he gets excited about pitching. Smoltz is a fantastic commentator, imho.

If you hate both, you probably should switch to the SAP.

Smoltz puts his verbs at the end of the sentence like Yoda! Or a Skeksis. And even when he makes an cogent comment, he'll use too many filler words and qualifiers that weaken his point. I think someone in production finally told them to not treat Game 7 as a guarantee because they were using "if" a lot tonight, even when there was a 5-6 run lead.

We did switch to Spanish for the last 2 innings tonight. Shoulda done it sooner, they were super engaging.

Growing up listening to Vin Scully will give one very high standards for one's baseball commentary.
