Harry ended up frustrating as a lead character. That explains in hindsight why I liked a lot of the side characters better - of the three leads, Hermione was the only really interesting one, IMO.

I think the three of them work more as an ensemble, playing to each others strengths. On their own, not so much.

The only time I got really frustrated with Harry was in the movies. Y'know when Dan Rad pretty much breathed out all his lines?
