I didn't realize Olivia/Casey was so popular -- I always thought the Olivia/Alex was the most popular f/f pairing for the L&O series.

Serena needs more love.

I always find it interesting that in many shows, the legitimately GLBT characters get less femme/slash than assumed straight characters.

I always find it interesting that in many shows, the legitimately GLBT characters get less femme/slash than assumed straight characters.

It's really a sad fact that so may "real" GLBT characters get shoved to the side in favor of canonically straight characters being put into gay situations/relationships. :/

I know what you mean. I thought O/C was actually the third most popular pairing in SVU fandom.

And I have a theory about Serena. It's probably because Original Flavour only gives you tidbits about the characters' lives every once and a while, whereas SVU is obsessed with the personal lives of the characters. Especially Olivia. And her ridiculous attraction to ADAs. (It's totally canon too: she slept with the gay one, she "wanted to be better friends" with the murdered one, she dated another one and is at the very least very close with Alex and Casey. I'm sure there is at least one more too)

On the other hand, I have read more fantastic fic about Serena than any other L&O character.

Well, you do make a valid point. We get to see a much more personal side of Olivia than we did with Serena, so a lot of people probably don't feel as "close" with Serena as they do with Olivia. Still, I think that Serena way out-gays Olivia, no matter how much lesbian subtext regarding Olivia the writers throw our way.

On the other hand, I have read more fantastic fic about Serena than any other L&O character.

Really? Link me, maybe? Because I'm hard pressed to find some. :/

Hmm, I may have to search to find all my favourite fics but fewthistle writes some pretty stories. Her Tracy Kibre/Serena arc is pretty awesome.
