16. I kind of agree with you... but at the same time, at least fandom is kind of promoting tolerance towards homosexual relationships? I mean, I'd rather it be that than people hating all over gays. Better to be sexually confused than hateful. :D

48. Nah, I don't think so. After all, it's based in the original timeline. People just didn't like Apollo Justice at first because they didn't want to let go of the original cast.

Most of the reasons why people don't like Apollo Justice seem to be centered on other aspects of the game instead of simply the lack of cast members from PW 1-3. I know a lot of my dislike for it stems from the fact that it focuses TOO MUCH on Phoenix, an old cast member. Sure, there are some that hate AJ for not having Phoenix as the playable main, but a lot more that dislike it for other reasons.

Oh yeah, there's that too, but I was speaking from the fact that, when we'd heard of AJ's existence, I know a lot of people were bitching about just the fact that 99% of the original cast wasn't in it. Heck, it was my original hesitation against getting the game. So I know a lot of people haven't even played it simply because of that.

I agree with you about Phoenix's involvement, though, and I loved AJ. The first case pissed me off endlessly just because of him.

In that case I agree :) This new game has Edgeworth, Gumshoe, and from the looks of it even more of the old characters. Hopefully some of the people that dropped out of the fandom because of AJ will get involved again.

And yea, Phoenix did pretty much ruin the first case. He had his chance in the spotlight; now it's Apollo's turn.

I was so psyched to have a new cast before it came out; my problems with the game have nothing to do with letting go of the first three. :/ So yeah, agreed.

I agree 100%. It seriously would have been best if they just added in a whole new cast of characters with maybe small cameos or references to the old cast. I mean, I love the first three games and all, but T&T was the best place to end Phoenix's story (and this is coming from someone who didn't even like 3-5). How are we supposed to play an Apollo Justice game when it still feels like Phoenix is the main character?

I think it's interesting how you said Phoenix's presence made the characters worse, because now that you mention, he did. Just him being there overshadowed the new cast, and made the characters too involved with him than they should be. ALL of the AJ characters revolve around Phoenix in some way: Phoenix is Apollo's new mentor, Trucy's new father, the man who essentially started Klavier's career, Ema's old partner, and the person Kristoph hates for no real reason. Not a single one of the main cast members is connected to Apollo alone; they all are involved with Phoenix in some way.

A different anon, but I agree. Kristoph had connections to just about every main member of the cast. He was Apollo's mentor, Klavier's brother, and the man who killed Trucy's father, but instead they focus on his connection with Phoenix more than anyone else. It really sucks, too, because all of them could have used more development and it was the perfect opportunity. Even in the first case, Apollo barely shows any emotional reaction that his mentor was a criminal. And did Klavier even mention anything about it besides a passing remark in 4-2?

Totally, TOTALLY. In PW1, we know Larry--Phoenix's old friend. Same with Edgeworth. Yeah, Maya is Mia's sister, but the game revolves around Phoenix and Edgeworth. Phoenix is the main character.

AJ STILL revolves around Phoenix. Who's the 'final boss'? Kristoph--Phoenix's enemy. (Hell, even 'the justice system' is still Phoenix's enemy)

The game is about Phoenix, we just play as Apollo--and poor Apollo suffers for it. He, Trucy, and Klavier are hugely lacking in development compared to just-PW1-Phoenix, Maya, and Edgey. and it's depressing.
