Tried a corset because of how much I love the way they look in costumes in movies and tv. Turns out I love wearing them.

Oh, almost certainly a few Japanese dishes.

I remember last time we had one of these threads someone said anal sex which amuses me to this day lol. I don't think I can ever top that response.

Melon soda, because a character I really liked at one point had it as his favorite drink. I ended up really liking it, although not being able to find it anywhere outside of Japanese supermarkets means I rarely actually get to drink it.

I drank melon soda when I was in Japan and I miss it so much. I had melon cream soda which is slightly different and I have never been able to find it outside of Japan.

I learned knitting so I could make the Fourth Doctor's scarf. It turned out massive so I pretty much never wear it, but it's awesome.

I had a long faux-leather coat because of Spike as a teen, and I tried Turkish delight as a kid because of the Narina books and I don't mind it in small doses.

Very typical and not really direct but my food friend who used to be really into anime knows how to make some Japanese food and sometimes we cook together. She is the person who initially got me into fandom and also to a lesser extent into anime though now I have migrated more into games, cartoons and webcomics.

I do know a fanfic influenced me to start eating porridge savoury - that is to say instead of milk and sugar, putting in salt, pepper, butter, chopped chicken, sliced olives, whatever is around.

Pretty sure some foods, but the most memorable was CalorieMate because of Wild Adapter.
It was pretty damn disgusting.

I never would have looked so far into Sengoku Era history if not for Sengoku Basara. Evangelion had me looking up different psychology theories. Military hand signals & general protocol thanks to war movies (esp. Battle: Los Angeles).

In a more direct sense, I'm on the bone marrow donor registry because of a CLAMP crossover and I've got a jar of cherries marinating in vodka because of a Borderlands fic.

Japanese food and British and Australian food too. Been experimenting with okonomiyaki lately. The okonomiyaki itself is delicious, but I'd love to have a sauce for it and all the sauces have stuff I'm allergic to.

Also anal play, but did not enjoy it. Apparently the "This feels like I'm pooping myself" feeling can go away with practice, but I did not enjoy it enough to keep practicing after a couple times.

Oh, sewing. Learned to sew for cosplay many many years ago and now I do it daily. I make some of my own clothes (this summer I made bathing suits because I'm really picky about the style I like and couldn't find it locally.)
