That's generally why people commission artwork, though... If an artist isn't willing to do extreme stuff, they'll usually state that upfront. No need to be embarrassed. You're paying for it, after all!

The only thing I recognise him from is Love Actually. And didn't he do some perfume ad with Nicole Kidman, or was that someone else? Anyway, he's very pretty.

For me it's less facial recognition and more complete change in characterization, how they hold themselves, ect. (see Chris Evans and Captain America.)

However, in the same vein, if the character is remarkably similar to one they played before, I've seen it like this. It's why I found it very hard to find some of the things Doctor Strange did "cool" when they were obviously meant to be. NO CUMBERBATCH THAT GOATEE IS NOT A GOOD IDEA WITH THAT HAIRCUT YOU LOOK TOO SILLY WHY COULDN'T THEY GET A LESSER KNOWN ACTOR MY GOD
