I have to be honest, I'm not sure I'd ever be up for that, either giving or receiving. Are people really that into it these days, or have they always been and it's only now getting talked about?

I have to think it's more popular.

Obviously this isn't precisely the same thing, but there is statistical evidence that men have significantly increased the amount of oral sex they perform, so I would say there's definitely evidence that sex trends have changed in a related area.

It's indirect evidence (increases in rates of oral cancer among men) but yeah, that's the hypothesis.

Like any sex thing, people have always been into it. You're probably hearing more about it than most people do/have if you're in a slash-heavy fandom, but that's a community thing.
