Depends on which group and when. When younger, often a protector , later on more the quirky/funny friend.

Often I find myself being the peacekeeper or the one who helps someone in a bad emotional state calm down.

Depends on friend group.
I'm pretty sure one of my friend groups in high school I was the third wheel.
My college friends--I was the weird friend, and sometimes I think I was "the friend that people felt obligated to like" even though I was always really nice, just socially anxious and socially awkward at once.
My current friends -- mom friend. I'm the mom friend. I check on them to make sure they're well. I'm the one that makes sure they take proper precautions. I'm the one who checks to see if they've taken their meds. And I definitely am just the mom.
