I hate when female characters slap male characters. It happened twice in Thor 2 and both times were so cringy.

Keira Knightly slapped Adam Levine (can't remember their characters' names) in Begin Again. Adam responded, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

That seemed like an appropriate response. I mean, what else is there to say without giving someone a lecture? And you can't have a movie come to a screeching halt for a character to lecture another about domestic violence.

I rewatched that scene repeatedly, I found it so entertaining/hot. Wish she hadn't stopped with just one slap.

Yeah that was my #1 problem with Thor 2. It feels especially out of place because Thor 1 was basically "Thor claws his way out of metaphorical toxic masculinity" and both movies do a pretty good job with their women characters (not perfect, but better than the average Hollywood blockbuster). But hahaha women slapping men is funny, right?

Also, there is NO way she could slap Thor or Loki and actually move their heads. It should have been more like that scene in SPN where Dean punches Castiel.

I would have loved to see that, just for the nice aversion of a tired and insulting cliche. Like, have her slap Thor and spend the rest of the movie with her hand in finger splints.

Yeah, and Thor be all, "I literally took a bomb to the face. What were you thinking???"

I can't remember the other occasion but it would be very very hard not to slap Loki. Then again I'd probably knee him in the balls. If assaulting a fictional character that killed thousands of humans and tried to blow up earth is a crime well, lock me up. Under other circumstances, no, it's not a good look.

(The thing that got me was the way the shot was set up to disguise how much shorter Natalie Portman is than Tom Hiddleston looked absolutely ridiculous and clearly fake.)

She also slapped Thor. For....not visiting her when the Battle for New York was happening??

Ohhhh yeah. That was pretty lazy writing.

When Jane slapped Loki? How was that crappy of her? He tried to destroy her planet.

The Thor slap was stupid though.
