Both Saturday Night Fever and Urban Cowboy were and sort of remain inexplicably (I say inexplicably because the stories weren't enough to rise above the dated elements) popular, but at least the music and choreography of SNF explains how it passed for fun. Travolta's character in UC was so despicable and the relationship so abusive I couldn't get through it.
