There are plenty ships that tumblr likes that are perfectly accepted around here. But this ship here? Has the most - oh no, tumblr buzzword - toxic fandom I have ever seen. A lot of them are fucking disgusting people.

the MOST? Really? That's saying a lot. I don't know the fandom so I can't comment but there are some shit stain levels of shippers out there in any fandom. Can I ask what this lot is doing that is the MOST toxic? I'm genuinely curious now.

In general, it's probably "one of the most toxic" but note the rest of the original sentence: "I have ever seen". The Steven Universe fandom is one of the most toxic as well, for example, but I'm not in that fandom so I haven't really seen it firsthand.

Now parts of the Voltron fandom (Klance shippers in a lot of cases, but others as well) have done lovely things like:
-Harassing artists and VAs working on the show (openly calling them pedophiles, sending threats etc)
-Sending threats to and doxing people who in their opinion shipped problematic ships
-creating callous posts (with the occasional doxed RL information about people thrown in)
- They also sent gore and childporn pictures to people who shipped something they didn't like

And that's not even mentioning the general hateful wank like on Pidge's gender etc.

So yeah, I think that's pretty toxic.

Have Stucky shippers tried to sabotage Stony shippers' charity projects by reporting them as pedophiles to the charities in question? Because until they do, I'd say the Voltron antis (and the worst of them are definitely Klance shippers) still have a leg up on the Stucky shippers.

I honestly doubt that "Tumblr likes it" has any direct causation to people disliking the ship.

There might be a correlation in that if Tumblr likes it then there's a way bigger fandom and many more chances for there to be assholes due to sheer numbers and activity in a juggernaut ship... but don't confuse causation and correlation.

I'm not even in the Voltron fandom, but Klance and its shippers sound like complete cancer. I mean, when they're harassing voice actors, making endless call out posts targeting Sheith shippers, accusing them of being pedophiles, sending them actual child porn, and wishing death on a character so his VA (who apparently supported their NOTP at some point?) will be out of a job and won't show up at comic Con, that's just SU fandom tier wankery.

AFAIK it's true. I searched Sheith on tumblr the other day - just to witness how much abuse they get because it's practically infamous at this point - and found out about the debacle through anti-Sheith blogs. The rationale behind the Klance shippers doing this is that "Sheith shippers are only making the zine out of spite against them" and therefore it's okay to ruin a charity effort.

Seeing this stuff makes me glad I never got into the Voltron series or fandom because, holy shit, it's nightmarish. And in such a short amount of time, too.
