I like queer when it refers to gay/bi/lesbian sexual orientation. Personally, I use it, because I'd describe my sexuality as "mostly lesbian but occasionally attracted to guys", which is technically bisexual, I guess, but that doesn't really reflect my dating experience (overwhelmingly female). Queer feels more like "not-straight", which is easier. I think it sounds nice... and I say this as someone who has been called a "fucking queer" before.

I hate when non-LGB people use queer though. You aren't queer if you are asexual, "demisexual", nonbinary, whatever. If you don't fuck same-sex people, don't call yourself queer. But the word's been appropriated by the tumblr crowds, so that's the only reason the word sometimes rankles me.
