I'm more annoyed at places like Buzzfeed for turning that into a "trend" when really fanartists having being doing it for years and it was something that was just for fun.

Like I have seriously seen Buzzfeed post fanart that was done a long ass time ago and then the comments are always something like, "Ugh, this again???" even though the artist drew it way before the trend.
