Might be a problem timeline-wise, since Sleeping Beauty is set vaguely 14th century ish and Beauty and the Beast is set vaguely 17th century ish, so it's pretty likely Maleficent has been dead for a while by the time the Sorceress curses the Beast.

OG Maleficent was a witch who could possibly use magic to extend her life, Angelina Jolie!Maleficent was a fairy, as was pre-Disney versions of the character who cursed the princess, so as a fairy could potentially have a very extended lifespan compared to humans.

AYRT is talking about the fact that Maleficent was killed at the end of Sleeping Beauty. But again, that's no insurmountable obstacle. Didn't Tinker Bell come back to life in Peter Pan?

Yes, I was thinking that since Maleficent made a mention of Hell, she could come up with some demonic deal to come back and cause trouble again, maybe now with a grudge against princes that would result in a random curse turning a prince into a beast, and if you do ignore the timeline problems and think the Beast was only 11 when it happens, there's an element of casting a curse she knows the kid will have a very difficult time curing, because of his age and the time limit.
