(Anonymous) 2016-12-05 02:15 am (UTC)(link)The park worship is only one part of the Disney fandom that I don't like. Other parts are things like people being really into ugly merchandise (really? disney princess bedsheets for anyone over 20?) or posting meta that has holds the insight of a 12-year-old. I made few incredibly cheesy edits to make any new content and behold, fandom people liked them sincerely. This is stuff that I still feel embarrasment towards and would never ever post on my main blog. I've even noticed that some posts that I've made seriously, got tagged as hate, because god forbid anyone who doesn't praise Disney like a giddy child must be a hater. These are the people who would like the Disney equivalent of a three wolf moon shirt unironically.
And I'm not saying that people should grow out of their hobbies or adults shouldn't have childlike enjoyment of things. Just please, try to incorporate some matured adult sense and taste to your hobbies. And stop visiting the face characters. They're just tacky and creepy if you're not a 4-year-old.

(Anonymous) 2016-12-05 03:19 am (UTC)(link)The world fucking sucks and if someone can get some pure and innocent joy out of a fictional character at a theme park, then chase that joy, man.

I just don't see why you care so much as long as people aren't behaving inappropriately. It might not be something you do, and I definitely agree that some adult Disney fans are really stupid.

(Anonymous) 2016-12-05 06:07 am (UTC)(link)Gee, I can't imagine why people would think you're a "hater." Aside from, you know, the fact that you sound like kind of a jerk for being so judgy about a totally innocuous thing.
I'll give you a hint, OP: the one who is coming across as childish here isn't the adults who enjoy Disney stuff.

(Anonymous) 2016-12-05 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)I have seen the light. No more will I assume that as an adult I can make my own decisions and choices, but I will frantically defend my fragile adultness.
Thank you OP, thank you. Could you please provide a list of Approved Adult Interests so I know what I can buy or be interested in? I'm guessing as a woman it's shoes and popping out babies.

I learned that the hard way. I was super into Lion King, and when I planned my Disney World trip as a 20-something, the biggest thing I wanted to do was meet the characters. I planned my whole trip around being able to do so, booking a dinner at an expensive steakhouse so I could meet Rafiki and one of the others.
When the characters came out, I was so amazingly disappointed. It was just a person in a cheap fake fur costume. (Really, I had no idea what I had expected. Even though I was 20+, I thought there would be some kind of "Disney Magic" that would make them seem more real?) The character gave me a hug, but it was so awkward and I was just so disappointed...

(Anonymous) 2016-12-08 07:57 am (UTC)(link)You're a hater, you just don't want to admit it because you want to seem Mature.
