Except that Viktor literally said it was an engagement ring and that they would get married after the competition?

God knows I get where the pessimism is coming from, after the number of shows that don't quite commit to that queer couple, but I don't see how there's any "plausible deniability" left at this point.

Masayoshi literally proposed marriage to Goto at the end of Samurai Flamenco, and went so far as to say that he'll "do everything your girlfriend would have", and the director weaselled out of that.
Unless they are *actually married* or state that they are *actually dating*, there is plausible deniability.
