I knit, and make beaded bracelets/necklaces and stuff. I don't sew as much as I'd like.

I'd like to learn indoor gardening (I have a balcony but if things are out of sight I tend to forget about them) but I don't even know where to start.

What sort of climate do you have, and how much sun does your balcony get? Is it an indoor balcony or outside?

I'm southern Ontario, so June-Sept is anywhere from warm to HOT and Oct to May is cool to icy.

North facing balcony so not a lot of sun and it's outdoors. I have a huge window that faces onto the balcony too with a ledge so I could put stuff on there.

Just be sure to have realistic expectations where indoor gardening is concerned. I have no idea, but lots of people seem to spread this myth about having indoor herb gardens using just a window for light. Haha, no. Mint, maybe. But herbs like basil require a LOT of sunlight and warmth, and they're not great for small pots unless you buy a variety that specifically meant for container gardening. And tomatoes? Forget it, not with a north-facing balcony.

You can try succulents, houseplants, african violets, potted ivy, that kind of thing. Maybe baby lettuces and greens. But most garden plants will need more light and soil room than pots allow.
