I've recently joined a community for my fandom where I get the feeling I'm in a distinct minority politics-wise. One of the mods is incredibly pro-Trump, for example.

I was under the impression fandom was generally liberal, so I'm honestly a bit surprised. He'd have been run out of town on a rail on every other fandom space I've been in, including this one.

So far I've avoided politics completely -easy to do on a forum - but I'll be meeting some of the other users at a convention I'm planning to attend so I'm trying to sharpen my social skills to avoid fights.

Google Sad Puppies/Rabid Puppies. There are plenty of conservatives in fandom!

I knew about them, but I thought they were a relative minority. Maybe it's just the spaces I generally hang out in.
