I have them sometimes, more when I was younger but they're still there.

I actually attribute my fear of water as an adult to a very vivid nightmare I had when I was little about drowning in the deep end of a swimming pool.

The most common recurring ones I have today involve my teeth falling out. No idea why. :/

Teeth falling out is definitely a stress thing, it's pretty common and I've had that dream, it sucks.

That explains it - I've been very stressed out lately for all kinds of reasons, so that may have something to do with the nightmares.

I had a dream about my teeth being messed up recently and my close friend told me that dreams about teeth or teeth falling out or being damaged can really mean miscommunication. At the time I was too shy to communicate something to someone I knew irl so it fit. Dunno if that will help you but..thought I'd share.

That could be contributing - I feel bottled in in some ways, which might fit.

yeah, I used to get that one a lot and it was explained to me that it signified stress/feeling a loss of control. Considering how many people have the same dream, report it, and the fact that I haven't had one since certain positive life changes, I'm inclined to believe it's true.

so blame the GREs? I mean talk about stress...

The GREs probably aren't helping, combined with family trouble, stress around adulthood, conflict with my parents, and my failure to get a job.

Yeah - I think I do have issues with stress and feeling a loss of control. In hindsight, the nightmare does make sense.

I hear the teeth falling out one is really common! I only had it once, which is weird cause I actually have dental problems irl so you think it would be one of mine. (Funnily enough in that dream though all my teeth started falling out and I was like "HOW AM I GONNA PAY FOR THIS I DON'T HAVE DENTAL INSURANCE..." which I don't think is normally the point of those kind of dreams.)

I had a dream where I drowned once, but oddly it didn't bother me that much. Maybe because the circumstances were so surreal. (I was at one of those dolphin or whale shows or something and got splashed and that small bit of water turned into a giant wave that dragged me under).

The dreams where I die by falling from some great height bother me a lot more. Thankfully I haven't had one in a while though.

In mine, I slipped on water while I was walking and fell into the deep end of the pool. I started breathing in water and struggling for air, and woke up when I went under.

It probably freaked me out so much because it felt very real.

I get teeth falling out every so often too. I always took it very literal, in the sense that I always thought it was my head telling me I need to brush them more.
