I am trying to learn Spanish and Japanese, but I'm scared that I'll get too confused, so I have been holding off on Spanish (my family is from Chile, so I can practice all I want once I get home - currently in Japan), but I'm also scared I'll lose my Japanese once I return to Canada since I know literally no one I can practice with there

oh good luck. I learned some spanish in high school and then majored in japanese. I used to be able to get myself through an easy conversation in spanish but since the phonetics are so fucking similar now whenever I try to talk spanish I accidentally switch to japanese mid-sentence.
