I don't have much in the way of full-on nightmares anymore, more the occasional disturbing dream, but I also don't think nightmares are a non-adult problem. Adults can have nightmares.

Some of my most common disturbing themes in dreams are teeth falling out, running away from some authority figure, and the End of the World.

There was also that one tidal wave dream - they weren't violent waves, but still there was a whole thing of just getting through them.
