I dunno, this is the second or third "I don't get Sam & Max's joke" in a month. I've played all of season one, so am I just missing something? Does season two really up the obscurity in its humor or something? I never found S1 to be too out there. Crazy as hell, but not jarring.

I don't care who ends with you, but my inner bitch wants Zutara ending just to see the flowing rivers of Whine. Of course there probably wank from the other side if Katara ends up with Aang as well, but todays post makes me root for Zutara.

Well... see that's the whole point of the secret -- that that's exactly what happens with, say, rape fic. They fetishize the act while simultaniously hating it in real life. The fetishizing isn't the problem -- fetishes are fetishes, no rhyme, no reason. Fetishizing gay people is no weirder than fetishizing hair or big boobs or whatever. No, it's the hating of real people that that's the problem.

36. I have to know. What is this from and what's the reveal that should make a difference?

I'm not a very big fan of Glinda/Elphaba, though in my case it's because I love Fiyero/Elphaba to itty-bitty pieces. The fandom tends to be...homogenous, to say the least. I might try starting a non-Gelphie ficathon, but I'm wary of getting my head bitten off.

Have you tried West Side Story fandom, if it has one? There might be some Maria/Anita kicking around. I know for a fact there's a Kathy/Lina (Singin' in the Rain) fic here (http://romantic.frenchboys.net/petra/srsotto.html).

The musical is, though it depends on the actors. Glinda's role is hugely expanded from the book, where she fades out after the first part - she's pretty much the secondary lead and Fiyero, while not peripheral, is a bit off to the side. I always thought some of Glinda's parts in the book could be interpreted as Glinda ---> Elphaba, though not reciprocated.

Ah.

Well, I was more a fan of Fiyero/Elphaba so...
