Any kind of laser beam thing. Bonus points if it's overpowered af, but I'll use the fuck out of it even if it sucks, and spend the whole time making robot pewpew noises silently to myself.

And for the second question, poisons/consumable DoTs.

The one "never use" item is ALWAYS elixirs or mega elixirs. I will buy 20 million ethers and potions before I use an elixir.

Fav weapon is harder to think of because I always forget weapon names. I like any version of Zelda where the master sword shoots beams. I always love the hookshots (anytime they can be used to climb and kill things.)

I'm always partial to the keyblades in Kingdom Hearts in general, such cool designs.

I would use an elixir on an undead boss (and have) before one of my own near dead characters.

Haha yes I think I've done that before, like if my white mage is dead or low on magic I just use a rare item.

and I can go playthrough after playthrough and never even touch those damn things because the sense of "just in case" is always there. Even during the final boss, I will think "BUT THERE COULD BE A SUPER SECRET SURPRISE BATTLE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS ONE WITH ITS HIDDEN TAIL AND I DON'T RESTART FULLY HEALED sooo I won't use this justincase"

I think one thing games have done to gamers is make us paranoid we will be stuck in a never ending dungeon low on supplies with no way out before several boss fights.

I always hate games where making money is hard because I need to buy those 999 potions so I never have to use my elixir.

I love the Master Sword in Legend of Zelda.

For an item I kept? There were two things in WoW. Some kind of potion to give rogues energy and some kind of glue that would keep someone from moving. Kept those until I out leveled them in an expansion.

Traps, poisons, balms and sword oils in Dragon Age:Origins. I never use them. I might use healing goods and lyrium potions, though frequency is low due to the mods I have.

Sniper rifle in ME. Hammer in Legend of Zelda. Also the bow in Zelda.

Favorite weapon: This one is very specific to one game--the Metal Blade from Mega Man 2, also known as "literally the most broken weapon in the game."

"That One Item I Get But Never Use" -- That would be Max Revive in every Pokemon game.

Sniper rifle in Borderlands and ME, swords or daggers in pretty much anything else, there was a pair of fist-blades you could get in one of the Ratchet and Clank games that I loved, used it all the time when I got it and was so sad that it wasn't in the game after. It was so much fun to bounce around shanking enemies(and occasionally glitching myself through the floor).

If the game has many guns that kill things with several shots, but a single melee weapon that kills things with one or two hits, I always, always wind up using the melee weapon. My capacity to kill things quickly without a lot of attacks can make or break the game for me.
