Okay super embarrassing but I've recently gotten into the Simpsons (20 years too late, I know) and all (okay, not ALL) I want is a shipping community. But I can't find anyone talking about shipping anything. Fanart is a no-go. And there's barely any fic for the show, gen or otherwise. There's a gold mine out there of one-shot characters to explore and character details passed over as humor that could be played differently and fuel good stories. And no meta talk either. I just want a fandom as if anyone else cared, but it's my parents' generation's show, not mine. Fghlyygfiurfiht.

I have been thinking of getting into The Simpsons lately myself tbh. Of all the adult cartoons that are out there, it is - at least from what little I know of them - the only one whose humor appeals to me at least a bit.

Not watched the simpsons in 15 years but 90s-era Simpsons are honestly some of the greatest memories of my teenage years.

Have you tried making a similar community or posting your own fic/meta or anything? Might get attention from others who feel the same way as you but haven't posted anything themselves because of being in the same boat as you-- not seeing an active fandom, not wanting to be the only one, etc. I think if you did it on a site like tumblr you could get some attention (don't know how you feel about that site but it can be pretty active even for more obscure fandoms).

I know that could sound unhelpful and I'm not trying to make it sound like "if you want it just do it yourself, for yourself, who cares if no one else does anything" but I think sometimes people might be more eager to post things like that if they see there are existing fanworks out there.

I'm currently in the situation of wanting to write a long fic for something that seems to have practically none, and so I definitely think you should go for it and see if you can start something. Good luck.
