Have you tried making a similar community or posting your own fic/meta or anything? Might get attention from others who feel the same way as you but haven't posted anything themselves because of being in the same boat as you-- not seeing an active fandom, not wanting to be the only one, etc. I think if you did it on a site like tumblr you could get some attention (don't know how you feel about that site but it can be pretty active even for more obscure fandoms).

I know that could sound unhelpful and I'm not trying to make it sound like "if you want it just do it yourself, for yourself, who cares if no one else does anything" but I think sometimes people might be more eager to post things like that if they see there are existing fanworks out there.

I'm currently in the situation of wanting to write a long fic for something that seems to have practically none, and so I definitely think you should go for it and see if you can start something. Good luck.
