Characters you like in movies you don't?

Who are they? Why do you like them? What made them stand out from the other characters?

Do series count? Because I watched all of Gurren Lagann even though I didn't particularly like it, because I really liked Viral. Only Viral.
I think it's the fact that he's a humorous tragic character that pushes all my buttons, and his ~seekrit dream~ is adorable.

I love Bilbo and Thorin but am not a huge fan of the Hobbit movies. I don't hate them, I am just meh about them.

A book, but the reason I hated Wodehouse's The Adventures of Sally was because I fell in love with Bruce Carmyle.

The only reason I'm still watching the TV show Girls is for Adam Driver's character Adam Sackler. We hate ALL of the girls on the show. They are so ridiculously spoiled and out of touch with reality.

TV series example. I mostly watched SGU for Rush, because Bobby Carlyle playing a questionably sane questionably amoral scientist who is sort of devolving sanity-wise at the same time he's sort-of-maybe-sometimes improving morality-wise. Rush was just an angry fascinating pinball of a character to watch bounce off everyone else in range, and Bobby Carlyle is never a bad thing.

I tried to watch OUAT on more or less the same basis, but it didn't work. I'm not sure why exactly, but maybe it's just because SGU only lasted for two seasons and Carlyle could hold it for me on his own for that long, but OUAT was just so long and kept flopping all over the place with everyone's characters/morality/backstories. I lasted ... pretty much two seasons, actually. Once Neverland started in S3 I just gave up.

OMG, I love your synopsis of Rush in SGU. It's perfect and I completely agree.

There's this horror b-movie about giant man-eating earthworms. I don't remember what it's called and it's way, way, way less interesting than it sounds. All the characters are as bland as they come too. All except one. There's a cop named Timur, who is an absolute badass on par with the best of them. I would watch a movie all about him if I could.

I'm trying to remember any cops in Tremors but I can't.

(And FU OP if it is Tremors because Tremors is fucking awesome.)

Nah, I like Tremors.
It was the movie mentioned below.

Googling "worm movie Timur" turned up Mongolian Death Worm (2010), which has a character named Timur who is a cop.

Reminds me of when I saw an episode of some show on the SciFi Channel where they go around searching for yetis and shit and in this ep they were looking for the Mongolian Death Worm. Spoiler: they didn't find it.

Yep, that seems to be the one I was talking about. I think. The only things I really remember are Timur, worms and that it took place in Asia.

Katana from Suicide Squad. I know we got zero backstory from her but the bits of backstory that we got were interesting enough (to me at least) to make me like her. I've got this whole Katana-centric cut of Suicide Squad in my head that's about her quest for vengeance, how she and Flagg became bros, how her sword works, etc.

Plus she annoyed me the least out of everyone else.

What are some good comics with her?

Jude Law's character in AI. he was the only character in the movie I found the least bit interesting, and if the movie had been about him instead of the kid I would have loved it.
