Just look up the anti-captive-prince tag on Tumblr for starters. Basically, according to the antis, it's racist, it glamorizes abusive/master-slave relationships, there's "TONS of rape" and I'm pretty sure I've seen pedo accusations as well towards anyone who writes/draws art for that one young character in the books.

In other words, Tumblr social justice, as usual.

Well, yes - but in the sense that criticising a porn movie for having sex scenes is apt.

Extreme power imbalance in relationships, sexual violence etc etc are its core premise. Explaining how it's fucked up isn't a productive use of time.

It's fiction, lines on paper/kindle.

I personally hate slavefic and all other weird bdsm dynamics that tries too hard fic, no exceptions, but it's still fiction and should not be censored. The author does nothing wrong, and neither do her readers.

"Censorship" is an extremely strong word here, even being extremely generous.

It seems to me that there are clearly times when it makes sense to be critical of works of fiction, and where the implications or messages of the work of fiction are wrong. Of course that doesn't mean it should be censored, but we're not talking about censorship. And I don't know if this is one of those times but I'm extremely uncomfortable with the argument in general.

This comment makes no damn sense, literary criticism isn't censorship. If an author writes something that is racist, yes that is wrong. It is wrong to write racist things.
