I'm such a wuss. I'm wearing two pairs of cotton flannel pajama pants, a shirt, a cashmere sweater, a regular wool sweater, and socks. I gave up on finishing my assignments tonight because it is so cold. It's 45 degrees. Not 45 below zero. Just 45. I mean, this is still low for where I am, but not as low as it gets, we usually have a few days in the 30s. I guess the shitty thing about living here is that because right at freezing is pretty much as cold as it gets, and it only happens a couple of days a year, our house doesn't have heat. Also one of my bedroom windows has been stuck partway open for years. I can chin up on it without it budging. So the cold comes right in. I'm under a faux fur blanket, a feather comforter, and a cotton quilt, and I wish I still had a wool blanket. Brrr. At least now that I'm starting to warm up a bit I can type. My hands were so shaky and numb earlier I kept fucking up. Too bad I can't do my assignments on my tablet.

Do you have plastic cling wrap or anything similar where you are? (You can always order something called an indoor window insulator kit from amazon if you're feeling fancy) Cover your drafty window, and tape the edges. The light will still get through, but it will keep a lot of the cold out.

Tape up some tarp to your window. Consider getting a portable heater for your room.
