There is really no age where people automatically know what they want to and are satisfied with it. Beating yourself up for not starting a something thing sooner is just unfair. What's done is done. Not everyone is lucky enough to do what they love from the very beginning. Sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error. But even if it seems like a lot of doors have closed, as long as you're alive there is opportunity. Or sometimes you find other things you might not have considered before.

It's really sad when you see people in their early 20's thinking they've wasted too much time. I've seen people much later in life feeling the same. People always feel that way when they are not doing something they enjoy and too often just settle for something else. Everyone deserves to chase their dreams.

I know it sounds cheesy, but to quote LotR... just do what you can with the time that is given to you.
