TV Tropes has a name for it - retroactive hatred? - but it seems to me it's one of those movies people liked well enough at the time, only to decide they disliked it much later. Maybe it got lumped with the horrible Cat in the Hat movie?

I remember liking it well enough the first time, a little less the second but not outright hating it.
