As I recall, The Birds just sort of... stops.

There have also been a lot of older movies I've seen on TCM that have weirdly abrupt endings and could have used more of a denouement. Some of it might have been movie-making/story-telling conventions of the day. I remember seeing Three on a Match and feeling the ending was too quick, and Alec Baldwin as guest co-host remarks on that, and he and the other co-host (Ben Mankiewicz? Robert Osborne?) discuss how movies were shot on such short, tight schedules back then, maybe they were running a day over and decided to cut some stuff and make the ending simpler just to stay on schedule!
