I'm with you. I think for me it probably has something to do with coming of age in a time when the chance of seeing gay characters -- let alone two main characters in a relationship together -- was so far from even remotely likely that all we really could do was cling to our fanons and headcanons.

Whereas now -- regardless of whether people want to admit it -- the climate for gay characters is at least a little more friendly and of course there are people who think that should retroactively apply to characters like Dean and Cas.

You know, based on this secret, I'm thinking you're the problem, OP.

I'm not apolitical, but I have never had a problem with my fandom friends. If you're a liberal person, it's really not that difficult to find people in fandom who hold the same ideals as you do, especially since it's generally liberal-leaning. Do you hold conservative views or something?
