Oh, you're one of THOSE types. Okay, I know this is a waste of my time, because you're just trying to get a rise out of people, but fine, I'll bite.

Let's use a classic anime as an example. In Inuyasha, Kagome never actually says "I love you" to Inuyasha in the entire series. Kagome stays in the past with him, meaning that she cares about him more than indoor plumbing, but they never actually say the words "I love you" to each other. I guess they aren't confirmed either, by your logic?

No, I'm just someone who has been baited before and learned their lesson. I wasted a year of my life emotionally invested in the Madarame/Hato pairing (and btw I started reading that manga because a secret posted here, fuck you FS) and was crushed when the author went for the no homo end after spending more than ten volumes writing a gay love story. As a human failure dealing with gender issues that story hit too close to home. It still hurts just thinking about it.

So yeah, thanks to Madarame/Hato now I know that not even characters admitting they have feelings for another men, trying to kiss them or being sexually attracted to them means canon homosexuality. So as long as something leaves room for deniability I'm not going to take the bait ever again. If the author can at any moment say "just kidding, no homo", as far as I'm concerned it's not canon.

Okay, so you've been burned before and you're not willing to trust it. I understand that, but I don't get why that leads to you being a dick to people who do trust it.

As someone who can't get over how awful Nidaime resulted to be... I get it, but I also thing YOI was too different to compare it with that mess.
