I hope everyone has a good holiday weekend! What is everyone doing?

We are doing our Christmas on Saturday which means we will all of Sunday to recover before work. We are eating lasagna and I am attempting to make a peach cobbler! But tonight I am going to my sister's to eat some dinner and try out Mass Effect.

Not much since I don't celebrate Christmas, but I might finally pluck up the courage to send emails to some volunteer organisations I want to work with next year. Wish me luck :)

My uni's student union has planned a shopping trip on Boxing Day too, so I'm really looking forward to that.

Oh man! The best of luck to you. Volunteering is a fantastic experience for both the volunteer and the organization. I hope you can find some you love to work at. :3

Gonna have a feast with my family tomorrow (or today already over here) and then back to work the next day.

Yeah, I don't get any work days off either. My mother is got Friday and Monday off. That is the benefit of working for the city!

I'll be going to Christmas service on Saturday and then opening presents. Church and two Christmas parties on Sunday. Tonight I'm going to do a last-minute edit on my Yuletide fic, and I'll spend the weekend reading fics. Lots of cleaning tomorrow too.

I hope all your parties go well. You are going to be stuff by the time it is all done! Enjoy your fic writing and reading. :D

We're going to my aunt's Hanukkah dinner tomorrow. Then we'll do our usual Christmas at home on Sunday. We usually have lasagna too. I'm mostly looking forward to opening Pokemon Moon so I can finally start playing.

Dang. Maybe lasagna is a traditional Christmas dinner and I never knew! You are going to be lost in the world of Pokemon soon. Don't forget about us! :)

I have to work out how to stuff and cook a turkey...which will be interesting. But luckily it's only for my immediate family, so there's less pressure for the food to all be perfect :P

Google is your friend! Though, I think stuffing a turkey isn't recommended as much anymore (the stuffing can be undercooked and affect how well the turkey cooks).

I wish you the best of luck and I hope it doesn't turn out like the Christmas Vacation turkey.

Remember to check the innards before stuffing to make sure they haven't put the gizzards in a plastic bag and stuck it in there. The gizzards are used to make gravy. Many is the first time turkey stuffer who has fallen victim to that one and forgot to check before stuffing. As long as you cook low and slow you'll probably be fine. Most difficulties with cooking turkey with stuffing are people cooking on too high a heat for too short a time. You get cooked outers, but burned innards.

Tomorrow is going to be the usual bumming about on Christmas eve that happens every year and Christmas day this time will be spent with my brother and his family, so that will be a long one.

But I haven't seen their new house yet so that should be good and I'm sure I'll be able to find a corner to be by myself for a bit when I need to as well.

What will you ask be eating and doing for Christmas? The usual things?

I have been invited to spend Christmas Eve with my brother/sister-in-law at the house of my brother's friend's sister's family (I had Thanksgiving with them last year and they are awesome), but I've had stomach problems for the past few days so I might not be able to go. :(

On Christmas, my plans are to have a simple holiday meal with my aunt and uncle and then go to the movies at one of them fancy theaters where you sit in lounge chairs and they bring food out to you during the movie. We just haven't decided which movie to see yet. :)

I hope whatever theater you go to isn't too busy!

And I hope your stomach doesn't bother you for your dinners!

I'll be alone probably watching movies since I won't be visiting my family this year.

It's for the best that I'm not, and I told my Mom I'd visit on her birthday and since my Mom is the only family member I really care about, I'm more looking forward to that.

I'm going to be trying to fight off a cold because I don't want to be sick two Christmases in a row. Also trying to avoid injuries because it seems like I have the bad luck to always be sick AND injured on Christmas--last year it was a flu and a sprained knee. :c

Hope you have a good time and have a Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve day, sis and I will go down to our parents place and then for supper that night, we're having pizza (last year it was Chinese food). I mean, we'll be snacking all bloody day, too.... Sis and I will come home and go back down xmas morning--we only live ~25 mins away and if we stayed over night, I'd end up having to sleep on the couch (bro gets the spare room, sis gets the hide-a-bed; sometimes being youngest does suck). We'll open our presents at home before we go back to my parents place--and we're having a turkey dinner at midday.

We'll spend both days hanging out--probably reading, maybe watching some tv/movies or playing a few games. Just generally chilling.

Well tomorrow, some Gingerbread decoration, lots of cooking, Christmas Eve service, a grand buffet then watching Nativity Story with the family. Then...well probably Christmas stuff and a lazy day.

Playing with my sister's cats. Studying. Going to hear my sister play the organ at her church. Eating borscht. And hopefully getting lots of sleep. I think we're doing turkey for Christmas day, but with the stuffing we usually do for duck (rice with dried apricots). And at some point I need to finish my Tolkien secret santa fic.

Hey there! My family is sick, but we are going to watch Rogue one tomorrow in the theater with great sound and comfy chairs. I also want to bake gingerbread cookies, but I need to buy some frosting for that. Lasagna is awesome (we actually have some in the fridge!) and that peach cobbler sounds amazing too. Hope you have fun!

Late, but my family doesn't do Christmas parties anymore (too much hassle and cleanup, also we agreed as a whole to stop gifting now that there are no more young kids and we kept ending up with useless gifts) so I'm going to a friend's instead! In the afternoon a bunch of us will be helping a friend with his shop's Christmas event and in the evening we'll be closing the shop for a potluck party for us "staff". I'm making jelly, I know someone else is making brownies, and we're probably all just going to make desserts and order pizza for the main course.

Will be spending the holiday with my family including the extended one and the aunt who keeps telling me that dogs can give you syphilis and gonorrhea (yes, really). I can't wait to go back home.
