Preparing to get on a plane, getting on a plane at mumble-mumble a.m. New Year's Day, being on a plane for a while, getting off that plane and on to a new plane, being on the new plane, getting off the new plane, picking up my car, driving to hotel, groceries, getting ready for work on Monday.

That is a lot of plane flying. Where are you going to and from to have that many layovers?

I'm only going from the Midwest US to the SE, and it's just one layover. There just weren't any direct flights at the right times for the right price, but even though I get to my destination before noon, the fact that I will have to be at the airport at 3:00 am makes it feel like I will spend the whole weekend traveling.
