Don't you think it's a little odd to respond to someone's comment with a counterargument for a point they haven't actually made, though? For example:

Jim: Oh no, this apple has a worm in it, I hate it when that happens.
Bob: That doesn't mean oranges are bad for you.
Jim: I'm sorry, what? I was talking about my apple, the one I'm holding in my hand. I didn't say anything about oranges.
Bob: I'm associating it with the general tendency of people to make strenuous arguments that oranges are unhealthy for you.

Not sure it's as much a departure as all that, when the secret specifically points to not standing up to Sirius and James as one of the things it faults Remus for. It's definitely talking about the Marauders doing bad things, and it's talking about Remus not being a likable character, and the only real difference you can draw is how much emphasis is being placed on the individual parts of it. And there's clearly a lot of significance being placed on him doing bad things as a teenager - OP views it as being indicative of his character all through his life. And so, well, I drew my own conclusions.

Eh, not seeing it.

"I've always found him to be a very overrated character" =/= "Remus is a bad person for all time"
