Anyone know how to dispose of old hair products? As in, half a can of mousse or dry shampoo (basically flammable stuff under pressure) that I can't use anymore? I don't think it's legal to just dump them down a drain or toilet.

A lot of cities have hazardous chemical depots where you can drop off household waste items that shouldn't go to the landfill. You can probably call your city or google it. They would also be able to tell you whether it's something you need to bring to them or whether it can just be tossed regularly.

Non-recyclable trash, or in a store dumpster.

Is it possible to donate it to, say, a women's shelter or homeless shelter? I'm not sure whether or not they accept that sort of thing, but I'm I have given products that I wasn't going to use to people in subsidized housing before so it might be worth looking into.

Maybe you could spray it all into a box or bag until all the product and accelerant is out, let the product dry, and throw everything away? Check the packaging and local waste disposal guides for instructions.
