I think you're right about Rinoa getting too much flack. I came into FF8 via Fandom, so I'd seen quite a bit of the bashing, especially since I was exclusively slash at the time, but when I did get to play the game... she wasn't great, but she wasn't really bad either. I still don't think her and Squall is a relationship that could last, but I also don't think it would automatically end with her being an evil demanding bitch too.

I don't really remember Quina being an actual character so much as a joke that went on too long, but I am due for a FFIX replay. It is entirely possible I will appreciate the character much more now!

Battlewise Quina is soooo useful. Catch 100 frogs and bam, a guaranteed 9999hp damage attack that's low on mp cost too. And oh man that LV5 death in Kuja's palace.

Yes, Quina is amazing! Lv5 Death against red dragons will level up the party like woah. And s/he's got the potential to be a defensive wall.

frog grinding is such a pain though - frog drop isn't a 9999 with 100 frogs until xl99 and it'd need like 167 frogs at xl60

now limit glove, on the other hand... that's just deranged for half the game
