Assigning characters family roles. The mommy, the daddy, the baby brother, big brother, big sister, etc.

To the point I've seen serious posts about how weird it was that another character's line was "your friends" and not "your mom and dad" or "your family". Or "You can't ship them together because it'll trigger incest survivors to see a sibling ship."

Oh, wow.

Yeah, I might say that a pair of co-workers on a show have a brotherly/sisterly sort of bond, or a character feels kinda like a father figure to another one or whatever...

...but if they're not blood-related/actual family members in any way, then...yeah. No. The incest argument makes no sense.

Yeah, I'd certainly never get mad at someone for not seeing something as shippy. But it's a situation where the people who ship the House character and the Cuddy character like to harass the people who ship the Cameron/Chase pairing as 'incest shippers' and it's ridiculous. (And oh dear lord lets not even get started on how degenerate the House/Cameron type shippers are! Then it's pedo incest.)

Oh, lord, yes, the pedo accusations, too...*Shakes head*

Every time I see somebody ranting about incest or pedophilia in those sorts of circumstances I just want to be like, "DICTIONARIES ARE YOUR FRIENDS!" It's ridiculous how ignorant some people are sometimes.
