I will never stop complaining about people claiming Ginny looks just like Lily and therefor it's creepy for Harry to date her. I don't even really ship them. I'm just really pedantic about the fact that the same general hair color doesn't make two people look alike without a lot of other features being similar too. Plus I appreciate that Lily has dark red hair like mine that for once isn't compared to fire all the time, unlike Ginny's.

I agree.

Honestly I think half of the people who say this, if not most are looking for a reason that it would be "wrong". I just.....can't get why people are dense enough to think that same hair colors makes people similar.

Maybe it's because some people live in areas where redheads are really rare...? I mean if you switch the hair color around, "Harry's mom had brown hair, and so does Ginny! Omg, it's like he's marrying his mom", the whole thing sounds nonsensical.

Yeah. I think Lily's more of an auburn redhead; Ginny's hair is light red. Plus, nothing else about them is similar.

(Of course, I go further and see Harry as more Sirius, and Lily as more Hermione, rendering the creep factor useless for that reason as well.)
