I can see that argument on the early days, yeah, but as the show went on and then we got the films? Yeah no, McCoy was just as fond of Spock as Kirk was and their "arguments/barbs" were just good natured ribbing by that point.

I have a feeling they either didn't see the show, see it entirely, or just went off the new films.

I mean,. I don't even ship Spones, but even I can see that they'd be just as viable as Kirk/Spock and that McCoy considered Spock as a very dear person to him.

I mean, if he wasn't, I don't think Spock would have entrusted him with his Katra in the first place and McCoy wouldn't have fought as he did to GIVE Spock his Katra back.
